After a fire in the forest, after everything begins to return, why does it look greener?
One reason is that the ash left over after a fire has a bunch of nutrients that rain bring to the earth. Another reason is that without a tree canopy smaller plants get more sun.
It’s always hard hiking through an area that a fire has burned and seeing the destruction. But it’s good to see the resilience and the new growth.
