Mt Hardware: Crater Lake Sun Hoodie

Both Tiffany and I love a good hoodie in the Fall or Winter, but neither of us had ventured into the world of sun hoodies. This shirt felt much lighter than I expected. Tiffany agreed. We both had reservations about wearing long sleeves in the summer, seemed like it would be hotter, clingy, uncomfortable. Wrong.

The Mountain Hardware Crater Lake Sun Hoodie was surprisingly light and comfortable. So much so that I forgot I was wearing long sleeves as we huffed and puffed up the very steep Cardiac Hill Trail.

We wanted to try the added sun protection, because we often hike for 10-12 miles over many hours, and reapplying sun screen over sweat is, well, it’s yucky.

I did find myself removing the hood only to put it back on a few minutes later, more than a few times, but I do that when I wear a wide-brimmed sun hat too. That may just be a me thing.

There will be more pictures of us in these, because they are now officially part of our gear.
